Ear irrigation
You can remove earwax at home by filling a syringe with saline or plain water, then gently irrigate the ear with the liquid, taking care to tilt your head against the drain path. When finished, tilt your head in the other direction to drain the liquid easily.
Make sure that the temperature of the water used in the syringe is moderate to avoid any negative effects such as dizziness if it is cold or burning if the water is hot.
You will get better results if you use the wax softening drops a day or two before this procedure.
Despite the effectiveness of this method, the patient should avoid it in the following cases:
A hole in the eardrum.
Having diabetes.
Eczema or other skin conditions in or near the ear.
Weakened immune system.
